It would seem I now own my first true fretted six. The Warwick and I got annulled in less than a week.
As I found on a 5, slapping is best based around octaves- root -8.
So if I'm in C on the A string 3rd fret with my first finger and C on the 5th fret on the G string I have a basis for slapping and popping root 8 octave figures in C.
My biggest challenge speaking of C, is that blasted C string. It really only affects me while slapping, im trained for the last 30 years to pop the G string and my hand automatically goes to the lower edge of the fingerboard seeking out the southernmost string.
So I've been coaching myself "thisisasix thisisasix" So i can seek out the G string when appropriate.
