I've been having this pain in my left wrist from time to time. I'm not sure why I get the pain, but it doesn't last long if I'm careful with it. I've got the pain right now. I notice that it doesn't hurt much at all when I play my Jazz bass, if I don't get crazy with it. Does anybody know of any basses that have a neck narrower than a jazz? I would love to try one out to see if it would help my wrist out. Oh and if anybody has any tips that can help with my wrist, I would love to hear from you. The pain is mostly on the side my pinky finger is on and there is slight swelling. It hurts to pick up a coffee mug and a jug of milk is really painful.

Take it with a pinch of salt, as I can't say from personal experience, but Ibanez Soundgears are suppsoed to have really skinny necks.

Ibanez are pretty brilliant for this, check their site, they give all sorts of dimension specs, and even the frequencies of their onboard eq's.

After check out Ibanez's site, it looks like they are about the same as a jazz bass. (.1mm difference.) That's good to know though.

Ahhh, shame, though it'd be worth visiting a shop and trialling one, even a mm can make a difference in comfort, if it's a mm smaller, that is....
Then again, could it be shape rather than size of the neck?

Try to find a used Fender American Special Jazz. Or you might even be able to find a new one in a store, they were discontinued like a year ago or something. So there might be some of them still in stock if you look around.
I've got one, and the neck profile is more like a guitar than a bass. Extremely comfortable.

Thunderbird, Check it out.
Thing is it's SO thin, you gotta be careful, let it fall too hard and the skinny neck will break right AT the nut.
