I want a 5 string headless bass. I'm spoiled, I already own upwards of 10 basses. This is 'Murica. I can have whatever my green paper can get. Opinions on headless? Carvin just joined the revolution, 35 years after Steinberger.

I saw that Carvin/Kiesel or whatever they're called. Not bothered for or against headless, but it'd probably be nice to have a light balanced instrument for my bad back.
30" 5 string too, lot of options, about two features away from being a dream bass for me.

Carvin just joined the revolution, 35 years after Steinberger. I had a Steinberger back in the day, It was good, tonewise, but after a while I missed the headstock, I didn't like the tuners, or more precisely I didn't like that I had to tune on the fly, using my right hand fumbling to find the right knob,,THEN actually correcting the offensive string, and speaking of strings,as I recall, they were expensive as Hell.

I have truly bad GAS for the new Carvin/Kiesel headless model (Vader). In a couple of years, if I can save my nickels and dimes, I think a Vader 6 might replace my main bass.

Keisel prices have gone through the roof! You can still get a base level Carvin/Keisel for a grand or less, but objects like the Vader 6 above approach the $3000.00 price. Whoa.

Well, that one's pretty tricked out. They go about $1300 without options. Which is still spendy, but their sixers have been over a grand for awhile.
