DC-7 Flyin Soul went into the studio yesterday.
Were doing three cover tracks as a demo to land club work.
Was a really good session.
I was XLR'd out the back of my head, guitarist and keys the same.
Drummer was mic'd of course.
We started with Isley Brothers Its Your Thing. All groove no changes, we banged it out without scratch vocals.
Then Sam and Dave Hold On Im Comin.
Engineer fed us the original record as scratch, cause the singer was sick.
Nailed it.
Then Jr Walker Shotgun.
More record scratch, nailed it.
One chord. All groove.
Engineer is a bass player.
First time ever i sounded good in a set of cans.
