Anybody on here like dead steels? I haven't let a set of steels die in a long time. I might buy a set soon.
Tell me about your favorite dead rounds. Whether they be stainless Steel or nickle.

I have used Roto Swing '66 rounds on all my basses for decades. Steels usually. I purposefully keep a dead 10-12 year old set on one particular P bass for that old school nearly flat wound tone for recording more subdued tracks, usually accompanying an acoustic guitar or keyboard oriented tunes. Tunes that don't call for an up front or in your face bass part.

I removed everything but one volume pot on that bass. Know it is a super bright bass (it was already pretty bright) and the dead rounds are the perfect contrast for it. I haven't played that bass in a while though cause it's in BEAD and I haven't needed that tuning lately.
