Been using gut Strings for over a year.
6 months ago my synthetic E string broke.
Now i.bought a replacement for $8.
Soon I will install it.

The $8 synthetic gut string went thud thud thud.
Out of desperation I purchased a student grade E string at Sam Ash. $26. It's not very bassy but it doesnt go thud.
